Informal Military Legal Counsel Available

Informal military legal counsel is available throughout the MEB (PDES) and PEB process at the request of the Wounded Warrior.  The counsel may review the results of the informal PEB and assist the soldier in compiling and evaluating information that supports a formal PEB, should the soldier requests one. 

This information includes the commander's statement, the NARSUM, the soldier's profile, recent APFT results, and other performance and personnel documentation.  The legal counsel represents and advocates for the Wounded Warrior at the formal PEB.  The counsel will evaluate the results of the formal PEB and advice the soldier on the wisdom of an appeal.  If an appeal is warranted, the counsel will write the appeal.
