SME Advisor Trainer Positions.  L-3 Communications is seeking three SME Advisor Trainers to provide Afghanistan specific cultural, civil and combat operations training in a classroom setting.  The classroom instruction emphasizes knowledge and proficiency in three focus areas:

• Afghan Social, Cultural and Political History

• Advanced Concepts of Insurgency and Counter Insurgency (COIN) in Afghanistan, and

• Village Level Civil Operations with case studies

Our approach is to find one Advisor Trainer, who possesses Subject Matter Expertise in one of the above three areas.  Together, our three SME Advisor Trainers will be strong in each of the three areas.

Instruction will include Historical Context, Applied Theory and Village Level Civil Operations and Social Skills in conjunction with Foreign Internal Development (FID) and combat operations that are regionally specific to Afghanistan.  Such training will allow the Marines to evaluate, train, and properly prepare them for real-world contingency operations.  

Prerequisites.  Successful candidates will promptly submit:

•   Resumes that clearly demonstrate their understanding of the requirement through their past experiences and familiarity with pertinent descriptive literature relative to their specific SME focus-area

•   Even though it might not be directly related to an Advisor Trainer’s specific SME focus-area, resumes should reveal an applicant’s general understanding of these topics: Origins of the Afghan State, Afghan Tribal Infrastructure, Afghan Religious and Cultural Developments, Engagement with Key Personalities, Recognition of Local Drivers of Instability, Developing Objectives and Measuring Effect, Understanding Population Support and Control, How to Fight the Taliban, and Drivers of Instability in Afghanistan

•   A recommended full-training day that identifies a schedule of specific periods of instruction that would cover their particular SME focus-area

1.  Position: Combustion Turbine Journey Worker

Location: Bellingham, WA (90 miles north of Seattle)

Description: Operate and maintain generation plant electrical and mechanical equipment, especially as it applies to combustion turbines, steam and/or combined cycle generation facilities.  Will work in a variety of settings, including: indoor and outdoor; varied weather conditions; all noise levels; sometimes hazardous conditions and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces. After 1-2 years, the person will become a Control Room Operator.

Will be required to work on high-powered electronic equipment in an industrial environment, aboard ships, as well as commercial facilities.  Will be required to perform emergency and scheduled maintenance and assist in the removal and installation of customer equipment.  May be required to troubleshoot equipment down to component board level.  Must be able to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and installation drawings.

2.  Position: Maintenance Technician

Location: Gillette, WY

Description:  Perform preventive maintenance, overhaul, and repair work.  Troubleshoot defective operations and breakdowns of machinery and equipment such as mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on all models of electric shovels and other mining equipment.

2.  Position: Electrical Maintenance Shift Manager

Location: East Chicago, IN

Description:   Lead and direct the maintenance personnel across a 24 hour operation. Will be responsible for safety, housekeeping, turn operations and down turn work execution.

Company Type: Steel producer

Requirements:  Experience leader (E6 and above) with electrical MOS/rate.

Compensation: $60-70K Base + OT (paid at Straight Time for Managers in 4hr blocks).  65K – 90K+ Potential – 1^st year

Shift: Rotating Shift. (5 days on, 2 off). Every week rotate to the next shift (day 7-3, swing 3-11, night 11-7)

3.  Position: Instrumentation & Electrical Technician

Location: East Chicago, IN

Description: Responsible for safely troubleshooting and repairing electrical and instrumentation equipment including compliance with reliability, quality assurance, environmental and government programs. Perform calibration of meters and analyzers. Maintain preventative maintenance system.

Requirements: Good electronics, electrical or instrumentation experience (MTs, FCs, FTs ETs, ATs, EMs etc., would be a good fit). Must be capable of accessing elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding, man-lifts and crane baskets.

4.  Position: Network Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL

Description: Conduct network surveillance activities and analyze/resolve technical issues related to DSL router/cable modems, IP Routing protocols (e.g. EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), LAN technologies (Ethernet, VLAN) and WAN technologies (Frame Relay, TI, DS3).

Description:   Directly supervises service technicians.  Responsibilities include; planning travel, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements:  Experienced leader (E6 or above) with AC&R experience.  Need to have 25 ton or above refrigeration/chiller experience.

3.  Position: Maintenance Technician

Description:   Perform mechanical maintenance of electric motors, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, extruders, CIP, etc and electrical maintenance of 3 phase motor control, analog controls, digital controls, valves, CIP, PLC, HMI, etc.

Requirements:  Must have strong mechanical skills (trouble shooting gear boxes, motors, chain sprockets, cylinders, etc.) and solid electrical experience in 440 volt or have good electrical aptitude.

Ensure proper billing practices and proper documentation of materials, labor, and rental equipment is performed to ensure accurate invoicing, for the purpose of capturing all revenue. Review and critique the operational and financial performance of assigned shows/events. Location: Loop, TX (150 miles SW of Lubbock, TX - 90 miles N of Odessa, TX)

Description: Perform mechanical work on equipment at compressor, pipeline, storage, gathering, fractionation and/or gas processing facilities. Perform mechanical work on fixed and rotating equipment at various locations including internal combustion, diesel, natural gas powered engines & electric drivers, compressors, pumps, generators, turbines, valves, electrical equipment and well equipment. Service, troubleshoot, maintain, and install/repair structural, mechanical, electrical equipment. Conduct performance analyses, including emissions testing

The Mayvin Consulting Group, Inc. has a requirement for an Operations Officer to support a high visibility Department of Defense organization.  The organization provides critical capabilities for lethality, command and control, situational awareness and survivability/force protection into operationally committed units.  The consultant will be primarily responsible for direct liaison between forward-deployed personnel and rear elements located at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Key Duties:

• Actively manage a geographically-based portfolio of up to 40 projects throughout each project's lifecycle
• Synchronize and incorporate training, shipping, sustainment, and assessment plans for each project into a Theater Deployment Plan to ensure timely and purposeful delivery
• Monitor and support the development, production, and testing of approved materiel solutions based on current and emerging technologies
• Communicate requirement and project status and significant activities to the organization's leadership through recurring synchronization meetings, written reports, and database updates
• Maintain awareness of U.S. Army operations and policy to facilitate organizational mission, goals, and objectives
• Coordinate activities and information with Army Staff, Major Commands, DOD agencies, and deployable units
• Inspect warehoused equipment, and prepare shipping documents to ensure immediate deployment
• Gather and review assessment data on delivered projects and provide operational input to support project disposition decisions
• Conduct operational support for short-notice taskers as appropriate to include gathering product information; tracking down requirements documents; creating requirement approval worksheets, etc.
• Serve as a liaison to outside agencies as appropriate for operations related project tasks
• Publish written reports, presentations, and white papers to organizational leadership

Required Skills/Experience:

• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, systems management, engineering, mathematics or scientific related field or in business administration

The Mayvin Consulting Group, Inc. has a requirement for a Budget Analyst to support a high visibility Department of Defense organization.  The organization provides critical capabilities for lethality, command and control, situational awareness and survivability/force protection into operationally committed units.  This position requires external contacts with various Government personnel including buyers, contracting officers, program managers, auditors, and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) personnel.  The consultant will also work together on a team to develop cross-functional solutions with the intent of delivery into the theater of operations to meet the war fighter's needs.
Key Duties:

• Assist in the following budgetary support services: planning, programming, budget, formulation, and budget execution planning.
• These services include, but are not limited to budget request submittals; budget obligation preparation and execution tracking; and preparation and follow-up of Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPR).
• Assist day-to-day operation to ensure the fiscal resources provided the REF is executed as intended.
• Track the fiscal records of the REF
• Support the Business Manager in preparing briefing material for organizational senior leadership and Congressional or Pentagon inquiries
• Ensure compliance with periodic reporting requirements and quality assurance of report integrity and fidelity

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a Science field
• Ideal candidate will have training certificates in PPBS and Fiscal Law or Appropriations Law
• 10 years experience as budget analyst working with federal funding
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
