Duties:
CACI has an opening for a SSDS Test Engineer at Wallops Island, VA supporting NAVSEA and Warfare Center Open Architecture Test and Evaluation of SSDS and its integrating sensors, TADILS, weapons systems. The SSDS Test Engineer is integrated in to the core test team in executing test plans and supports test team tasks such as test procedure development, review, verifying and validating. The SSDS Test Engineer supports the Lead Test Engineer, Project Officer and Project Engineer in the execution of test plans and procedures, observing test events, developing test observation reports/deficiencies, developing test procedures, providing on-the-job training to shipboard technicians and operators in conjunction with system changes and tests. May be required to prepare or support the preparation of papers and presentations. The test engineer will be expected to support configuring elements/systems of the combat systems, conduct safety walk-trough, hot and cold checks to support the execution of test scenario.
Required Qualifications:
Must have a current DoD SECRET Security Clearance to qualify.
Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and two to four years of related weapons system maintenance experience. Education equivalency for this position is one or more technical schools for one of the below systems, plus 3 years of related experience.
Must have a thorough working knowledge of the SSDS combat system, peripherals devices, equipment interfaces, and system operations. The successful candidate must be a qualified SSDS Systems Maintenance and/or Operator Technician, qualified as Tactical and/or Technician in one or more of the following systems: SSDS MK 1/MK2, Q-70 enhanced radar and computer display, Electronic Warfare, SPQ-9B, NSSMS, Evolved Sea Sparrow (ESSM), RAM GWCS, Tactical Information Coordinator (TIC), Air Defense Weapons Coordinator (ADWC), Defense Weapons Coordinator (DWC).
Must be skilled with PCs, MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Travel estimated at > 25%.
Desired Qualifications:
Former Navy E-5 - E-7 qualified (NEC/PQS) Maintenance and/or Operator Technician, SSDS Tactical Technician/Operator that has completed the formal SSDS Operator or Maintenance courses of instruction with fleet qualifications in one or more of the afore mention systems/positions. Participation as a fleet member in the introduction and testing of the SSDS MK 2 System is a plus. NATO Sea Sparrow, RAM, SPS-48, SPQ-9B, Electronic Warfare and advanced watch station qualifications strongly desired.
Highly desired: Advanced understanding of Sensors: SPS-48, SPS-49, SPQ-9B, NSSM, Amphibious mission area and USW.

PRIMARY FUNCTION(S):

We are seeking an energetic, highly motivated linguist to help build a lexicon for use in a machine translation application service. The successful applicant will be given a variety of lexical resources and texts in their appropriate language to use in this project. He/She will be required to turn a published dictionary into a machine translation lexicon which entails carefully choosing English meanings for each term in the lexicon, and stemming their language terms so appropriate grammatical (affixes) apply. The linguist will also test the lexicon in the machine translation service and iteratively improve it based on the testing data to be supplied by the test and software development team. Depending on experience, the linguist may also be required to create and modify grammatical (affix) rules to be implemented into the machine translation service.
