Department of Veterans Affairs Aptitude Testing

As soon as a WW is an outpatient and capable mentally and physically of being tested,  they should contact Jeannie Lehowicz at 703-424-3563 or Room 2-24 of the MATC or new amputee center for an appointment to complete an application to be tested. Be aware  the application must be approved by the VA and the approval process may take from one to four weeks.

It is strongly recommended that the WW's both at WR and Bethesda be tested as soon as possible.  Jeannie Lehowicz then counsels the WW on general aptitude for professions  or job skills will share this information with the mentor and case manager..  This is the first step in assisting the WW in pointing the way to long range goals, a new life and profession for the future.  We are fortunate to have this capability at WR and it is very important that WW's complete the aptitude test early on while at WR.  This allows them to begin short range goals such as Tuition Assistance courses and internships while at WR that feed into long range or professional  and job goals once they leave WR or Bethesda Naval.

It is a VA requirement to take this VA aptitude test before any VA benefits are considered, so it is a big advantage to this test at WR before getting to the VA.  WW's are encouraged to keep the paper from the test results to prove they have taken the test at WR. Once taken, the aptitude test is valid for twelve (12) months.
