Fisher Houses at WRAMC
There are three Fisher Houses at WRAMC. They provide free housing for the families of WRAMC patients and air travel for the wounded and their families using frequent flier miles donated by Americans. Fisher House I is located on the Forest Glen Annex of WRAMC, approximately 3 ½ miles from the hospital. Fisher Houses II and III ar on the main campus within walking distance of the hospital.

Mologne House Hotel at WRAMC
The Mologne House is a 200 room state-of-the art hotel on the WRAMC campus. It is for outpatients and families visiting patients from all military services who come to Walter Reed and includes Active Duty, Reservists, National Guardsmen, Retirees and Civilian Employees on official duty or leisure travel.

Every WW is required by WTB to visit this office and have a counseling session on VA Disability with emphasis on the DOD/VA Pilot Program. DOD/VA Pilot Program is where the Service makes fit/unfit determination through the Disability Evaluation System and the VA Rating Board determines the disability ratings.

Army Wounded Warriors Program (AW2)
The U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2): (1) “Delivers compassionate, tailored and personal support, (2) Educates our Commanders, our Army, and our Nation, (3) Designs, integrates and leverages relevant policy and programs.” AW2 was previously designated as the Disabled Soldier Support System (DS3). AW2 tracks Wounded Warrior’s once they leave Walter Reed.

Yellow Ribbon Fund
The Yellow Ribbon Fund (YRF) was created in early 2005 to assist our injured service members and their families while they recuperate at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center and the National Naval Medical Center. YRF provides taxi vouchers for soldiers and families to leave the hospital grounds, rental cars, free hotel rooms and apartments, tickets to sporting events and internship opportunities. YRF plans to upgrade its mentoring effort by finding 110 jobs for WWs this year. It has good corporate contacts.

Helping Our Heroes Foundation (HOHF)
The Helping Our Heroes Foundation (HOHF) provides airplane tickets through Air Tran Airways and financial assistance/grants. For airplane tickets between home and WRAMC, fill out a travel request through the HOHF Website – http://www.hohf.org/, under the “Find Help” section. For financial assistance, fill out a financial grant request through the HOHG Website (“Help Section) to get assistance with bills and emergencies. Applications should be as detailed as possible. Offer to submit receipts or invoices separately if applicable.

Navy Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor is the Navy's lead organization for coordinating the non-medical care of seriously wounded, ill and injured Sailors, Coast Guardsmen and their family members.
