Inova Health System “Military to Medicine“ Program

The Inova Health System comprises five major hospitals in the Northern Virginia area. Three years ago their leadership came to us and proposed a program to hire Wounded Warriors (WW’s) for a variety of medically related disciplines and earn money while they are going to colleges, universities and medical schools under the Post 9/11 GI Bill and the VA Vocational Rehabilitation Program.

The concept is to give discharged WW’s a lower level job related to the medical discipline they wish to pursue. The hours would be flexible so that they can earn money while they are going to school Hopefully the job will be related to the medical profession degree or certification they seek to attain.

This is not an internship program.  Wives and spouses of WW’s are encouraged to apply as well.

The medical disciplines of interest for the Inova Military to Medicine Program are: Nursing, Nursing, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Dietician, Pharmacist, Occupational and Physical Therapy, X-Ray Technician, Medical IT Systems, Medical Admin, and Patient Relations.
