BAE Systems Job Program for WW’s

BAE Systems, a global corporation, is the third largest defense contractor in the world with 106,000 employees.  They are interested in hiring Wounded Warrior after discharge and have established a hiring office specifically for Wounded Warriors in Rockville, MD that covers BAE job requirements around the globe. They are particularly interested in WW’s that already have a clearance although this is not a requirement to get a job with BAE Systems. The jobs may or may not be in the Washington area. 

The head recruiter for the BAE Systems WW Hiring Program, based at the BAE Systems Headquarters in Rockville, MD, is Jim Rodriquez.  Jim is a recently retired Marine that headed the Marine Wounded Warrior Detachment at the US Naval Hospital (Balboa) in San Diego prior to his retirement last year. CACI Program Helps New Careers 

Suffering from his third back injury, Army Cpl. Mayo Van Dyck was walking through Walter Reed Army Medical Center last year feeling he couldn't give the service his all anymore. But he didn't want to stop supporting the government.

So the 10-year serviceman, a satellite communications specialist who had served in Kosovo, was happy to hear an announcement that Arlington government contractor CACI International had a new program targeting service-disabled veterans. He attended a CACI briefing at Walter Reed and soon after joined the company. He is now a quality assurance manager on a classified project.

Job Description

Process and administer personnel security clearances to include submitting security clearance applications. Additionally, process other personnel actions such as clearance upgrades and downgrades to include DD Form 562 for terminations, concurrents, etc.

1 Administer the personnel clearance process utilizing the Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ).
2 Assist in processing visit requests for CNA employees, consultants and outside visitors.
3 Prepare photo ID badges, passport photos and other government ID cards for CNA employees and others assigned to CNAC.
4 Provide information and guidance to CNA employees and consultants regarding DOD and Navy regulations. Prepare cost pool report.
5 Maintain Security department files and records, clearance periodic review roster, personnel security files, blank forms and supplies required by regulation and as needed by department.

Job Requirements 

1 Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2 Experience: Minimum 3 years administrative experience including exerpeince with EPSQ/SF86.
3 Skills: Microsoft Office; ability to type 45-50 wpm; ability to operate badge-making system; strong customer-service and oral and written communication skills.

Evergreen Purple Heart Program for Wounded Warriors

This program got its start in the summer of 2007 when Thomas A Wiggins, a former Walter Reed wounded warrior introduced the concept to Walter Reed wounded at the Mologne House.  Its purpose is to encourage Wounded Warriors (WW) from the Iraq and Afghanistan War to apply for jobs at Evergreen Aviation, which maintains a diverse number of job opportunities in the company

Candidates who are selected by Evergreen would be able to work for Evergreen during the day, attend college courses at night at a local college, and live in housing in the vicinity of Evergreen.  The company would assist the wounded warrior in getting into college and in obtaining housing.

This position will involve 1-2 months of development/integration effort in Northern Virginia followed by 3-4 months OCONUS deployment in Afghanistan.

S&K Aerospace is looking for a number of qualified candidates to provide management and administrative services for the FAA's System Operations Management and Administrative Support Services (SOMASS). These services would be in support of the FAA Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Systems Operations Service (AJR) organization.

AJR is responsible for overall traffic flow management, planning, analysis, and implementation of the FAA Safety Management System (SMS), airspace re-design, managing the operational authorization of unmanned aircraft operations, implementation of RNAV/RNP, and development of technical policies, standards, and procedures. AJR provides the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) daily interface with the Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at the national and military command levels regarding national security, air transportation security issues, safety, which include daily operational issues as well as planning for future operations. ATO-R also provides real time evaluation of Air Traffic Control (ATC) services, requirements for weather observation and reporting standards in accordance with the National Weather Services (NWS) standards, acquisition of weather systems to support the ATO, performance analysis for ATC metrics, and formalized agreement with other ATO organizations. In addition, AJR is responsible for development of national policies and guidance for the FAA’s contract flight services stations and management oversight for the Flight Services FS-21 Services Program Contract.

Personnel for key billets need to be identified.  The Key billets are:
Program Manager (1 position available)
Task Lead (multiple positions available)

Candidates should have demonstrated program management or team management experience.  FAA experience is preferred but not required. 

Work will be performed in the Washington DC area and is contingent on contract award. The contract should start in June 2010.

Successful candidates will work in VA for 12 month periods rotating in teams to Iraq and Afghanistan for 6 Month deployments

Job Description: The successful candidate with join one of the IED Defeat Teams supporting the JIEDDO in Iraq or Afghanistan. The teams are providing IED forensics and technical intelligence to US Army and US Marine Corps battalions; each team consists of 5 to 6 IED specialists. The counter-IED teams examine explosive signatures, chemical traces, and blast patterns to provide an overview of how an IED attack unfolded. The data are analyzed at the team-level and sent to the relevant agencies and military components for external analysis.

The analysts provide support operations from the primary work location when not actively deployed to the field.
