More U.S. Border Patrol Agents |

Saturday, 07 August 2010 |

Veterans have special job preferences within the first 120 days out, very few are organized or knowledgeable enough to take advantage of this. However, their preferences beyond that are pretty good as well. As you know the key to getting into the federal civil service system is to find the "large target" and go from there. This is definitely a large target opportunity.
Unanimous Senate OKs $600M for Border
The Washington Times
10:40 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010, By Stephen Dinan
The Senate on Thursday voted to hire 1,000 more U.S. Border Patrol agents as part of a $600 million border-security bill, acting swiftly in the hours before they left to face constituents during their five-week summer vacation. Sen. Charles E. Schumer, New York Democrat, who is spearheading his party's immigration-reform efforts, said the money shows Congress is committed to border security as a down payment on eventually legalizing illegal immigrants.
